Women in racing

Bjorn is proud to encourage female ownership in horse racing, with the stable providing multiple opportunities each year to get involved in horses both fully and majority owned by women. Each year we take several tables at the infamous Pink Lunch hosted by the ATC, we hold hosted long lunches and opportunities to connect and build relationships with other women - both thoroughbred aficionados and those new to the great game of horse racing.

Bonuses to reward female ownership are offered by both major auction houses. Magic Millions and Inglis both offer lucrative schemes for horses purchased by female owners through their sales. Scroll on to find out more.

CAPITALIST X PAULITA FILLY

When we are purchasing a horse to target the lucrative $1M Pink bonus with, we try to find sharp early running types and this filly is that to a tee. Capitalist is the HIGHEST earner of two-year-old prizemoney EVER – over $3.5 million and consistently gets early running horses that compete at a high level.

  • MAGIC MILLIONS WOMEN'S BONUS

    Magic Millions offer the Racing Women’s Bonus of $500,000 for the first four all-female owned or leased horses in finishing order in The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic, which is in addition to race prizemoney of $3,000,000.

    • A $250,000 Racing Women’s Bonus is also on offer to the first four eligible all-female-owned (or leased) horses in finishing order in the $3m Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.

  • INGLIS WOMEN'S BONUS

    Inglis offers a Pink Bonus series, whereby the horse must have at least 75% registered female owners. The first registered horse home in each of the races listed below will be eligible for an additional bonus, on top of the existing prizemoney payable, as outlined below.

    • 2023 Inglis Banner, $500,000, Moonee Valley - $200,000 Inglis Pink Bonus

    • 2023 Inglis Nursery, $500,000, Royal Randwick - $200,000 Inglis Pink Bonus

    • 2024 Inglis Millennium, $2,000,000 - $400,000 Inglis Pink Bonus

    • 2025 Inglis Sprint, $1,000,000, Flemington - $200,000 Inglis Pink Bonus
