Irithea proved she was up to the challenge of the 1400m at Royal Randwick on Saturday when stepping out third-up for the Darby Racing team.
Traveling outside of the leader throughout, the daughter of Snitzel let down from the 300m mark to give chase and proved far too good, relishing the step up in distance to win by over a length.
A lightly raced 4yo mare, Irithea has won four from fourteen starts with two of those races being metropolitan races. By winning Saturday, the mare takes her prize money earnings up over $150,000.
A big congratulations go to her loyal owners and a wonderful ride by Josh Parr.
